There will be a Thompsonville River Gateway Public Meeting held on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Enfield Town Hall Council Chambers at 820 Enfield Street, Enfield, CT.
The purpose of the River Gateway Districts is to encourage transit oriented development in proximity to the planned commuter rail station at Main and North River Streets and to leverage and protect the unique historical and natural features of this area.
There are 5 River Gateway Districts each having their own specific purpose which includes preserving municipal, open space, riverfront and natural resources all while providing walkable residential neighborhoods with a diversity of housing choices. In addition, the development will build upon the historic function of Thompsonville that will include a mixture of retail, restaurant, services, office space and housing that will serve local residents and future rail commuters.
