News Release for the Week of November 17, 2014

The Country Jamboree is bringing The Grand Ole Opry to the Enfield Senior Center. On Friday, December 5 at 6 p.m. the cast of The Country Jamboree will perform the music of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, and more. This show was a lot of fun – and a sellout - last year. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person and includes a dessert and coffee at the break.

Dr. Jeffrey Schumann, Superintendent of the Enfield Public Schools and Town Manager Matthew Coppler are inviting you to a complimentary lunch and a discussion of the Town of Enfield and the Enfield Public Schools on Tuesday, December 9 at noon. Just make a reservation for lunch by calling up to noon of Monday, December 8 at 860-763-7428. Stay for the talk and bring all of your questions or comments with you.

The Enfield Cultural Arts Commission will sponsor a Veterans Tribute on Sunday, November 16 at 2 p.m. featuring renowned pianist Paul Bisaccia at the Enfield Senior Center. Paul Bisaccia will perform Stars and Stripes Forever, in a tribute to those who have served their country. The concert is free and no tickets are required.

The monthly movie on Thursday, November 20 is “Jersey Boys.” Enjoy a Chicken Quesadilla and movie for $5 per person. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. Please purchase tickets in advance. If you are coming for the movie only, it is $2 at the door.

The Rotary Club of Enfield is hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Center on Saturday, November 22 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The Rotary Club raises money for charitable projects in Enfield. Have pancakes for a good cause!

The Goldtones are in concert at the Senior Center on Sunday, November 30 at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $5 per person, including coffee and dessert. The Goldtones will be appearing at the Log Cabin on Thursday, December 11. Lunch includes Marinated Sirloin with Bordelaise Sauce and Stuffed ½ Lobster. The cost is $52 per person. You may purchase the tickets in the Senior Center office but transportation is on your own.

We are approaching cold and flu season. Hand sanitizers are located near the doors and Dining Room.

Day trips are available for sale on or after the trip sign-up date.
• Texas Tenors at Foxwoods Casino, December 11, 2014. This trip is sold out!
• Santa & the Goldtones at the Log Cabin Restaurant, December 11, 2014. Cost: $52 pp. Tickets are available at the Senior Center Front Desk.
• It’s a Wonderful Life at the Stageloft Theatre, Salem Cross Inn, December 13, 2014. This trip is sold out!

Multi-Day Adventures
Reservations are being accepted for multi-day adventures.
• Hawaii Cruise, January 22-February 1, 2015. This trip is sold out!
• Washington DE Cherry Blossom Special, April 10 – 13, 2015. Cost: $652 pp/dbl.
• Springtime Tulip River Cruise, Belgium & the Netherlands, April 10 – 18, 2015. This trip is sold out!
• Alaska Inside Passage Cruise, May 6 – 16, 2015. This trip is sold out!
• Sunny Portugal, October 15 – 25, 2015. Cost: $2999 pp/double.
