News Release for the Week of November 24, 2014

The staff of the Enfield Senior Center wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving. We are very thankful for you. We appreciate your participation, your kind words, and the smiles. Many people who are new to the Enfield Senior Center often comment about how nice people in Enfield are. We give thanks for you.

The Rotary Club of Enfield is hosting a Pancake Breakfast at the Senior Center on Saturday, November 22 from 8 to 10:30 a.m. The Rotary Club raises money for charitable projects in Enfield. Have pancakes for a good cause!

The Goldtones are in concert at the Senior Center on Sunday, November 30 at 2 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door for $5 per person, including coffee and dessert.

The Country Jamboree is bringing The Grand Ole Opry to the Enfield Senior Center. On Friday, December 5 at 6 p.m. the cast of The Country Jamboree will perform the music of Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, and more. This show was a lot of fun – and a sellout - last year. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person and includes a dessert and coffee at the break.

Dr. Jeffrey Schumann, Superintendent of the Enfield Public Schools and Town Manager Matthew Coppler are inviting you to a complimentary lunch and a discussion of the Town of Enfield and the Enfield Public Schools on Tuesday, December 9 at noon. Just make a reservation for lunch by calling up to noon of Monday, December 8 at 860-763-7428. Stay for the talk and bring all of your questions or comments with you.

Keep in mind that the Enfield Senior Center does not have classes or meals when the Enfield Public Schools are closed due to snow. If there is a weather delay, however, our schedule goes on as usual. Closing information can be found on television stations, Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, you may want to call the Senior Center to verify the status of your activity. Make your decision carefully before you venture out on a snowy day.
