We are looking forward to opening our doors to the public on Monday, June 22nd!
Things will look a little bit different if you choose to come by. Buildings and Grounds has done a wonderful job building plexiglass dividers for all of our public desks. We have moved a lot of the furniture into the community room to give people more space to move around. We have also taped off six-foot distances to remind everyone about social distancing. The Community Room is currently being used to quarantine materials, so we will not be doing any indoor programming for the foreseeable future.
Patrons have been happy with our contactless curbside pickup service, so we will continue to offer that for anyone who is not comfortable with coming into the building.
We are taking the guidance from the State very seriously. All staff and patrons will be expected to wear a mask. We will have a limited supply of masks in case someone forgets to bring theirs. If you are unable to wear a mask, we would be happy to offer you curbside pickup. The guidance from the State mandates that we limit our occupancy to 50% or less. We will have a staff person monitoring this at our busiest times. If we find that social distancing can not be maintained, we will be forced to further limit occupancy.
Because of the small size of the Pearl St. Branch, we will offer 30-minute appointments for patrons to browse the collection or use the computers. Please call the branch at 860-253-6433.
