[ARCHIVED] Community Update from Town Manager Christopher Bromson 12/31/2020

Happy New Year!

The Town of Enfield would like to wish you and your family a safe, happy, and healthy New Year! As we look ahead to 2021, we look forward to continuing working together with the members of this wonderful community.

Help Us Plan Enfield’s Future

The Town of Enfield and the Planning and Zoning Commission have started the comprehensive planning process to update the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD).The POCD is a strategic plan that will guide land use, development, and decision making for the next 10 years. As part of the planning process, we are seeking input from the community to inform our effort and the Plan. This Community Survey offers you an opportunity to provide your thoughts and perspectives on Enfield today and the Enfield you want to be part of in the future.

The survey only takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete—time well spent to participate in the planning of Enfield’s future. We thank you for your interest in our community and taking the time to inform the Town’s planning process.

Senior Center

Decorate a puzzle piece and contribute your individual voice to form our story and complete our Enfield Senior Center puzzle. Each piece starts out blank, and in the end, all the pieces are different and fit together. You can color, paint, collage, embroider, anything to express yourself. You can be anonymous or sign your piece. Call 860-763-7425 to get your puzzle piece.

Join the Enfield Senior Center on January 15 at 3PM for a virtual presentation in conjunction with The Connecticut Historical Society. In the 1950s, just about every major city had a landmark department store. In Connecticut, it was G. Fox & Co. in Hartford! This presentation will bring you back in time to Fox’s heyday, as we go from floor to floor and recall the various departments. Call the Senior Center at 860-763-7425 or email us at seniorcenter@enfield.org to register. A link to the Zoom presentation will also be posted on our Facebook page.

Below are just some of the virtual programs we are offering at The Senior Center, for a complete list please visit our webpage, Facebook page or sign up for our weekly e-mails. All programs are free. Please call or e-mail the senior center to obtain Zoom links.

This seven-week virtual series will help families build their children’s library by providing a free children’s book at each session and will introduce a new topic related to literacy each week. Session date and times will be planned around the schedules of families. Interested families can contact Erin Grimes at 860-253-6580 or email egrimes@enfield.org for more information.

The FRC has received a generous donation of new hats and mittens from the Enfield Women of the Moose and new winter coats in memory of Lisa Dupuis, a beloved teacher in the Enfield community for over 30 years who passed away recently.
