Vaccine/Booster Clinic Week in Enfield
In light of the rapidly increasing number of positive Covid cases, the Town of Enfield has scheduled 4 free vaccination clinics for the week of January 10-14. You will be asked if they have insurance; however, if you don’t have insurance, you will still be able to get vaccinated. Please bring photo ID as well as vaccination card if receiving booster. These clinics will be held at various access points across town from 3pm-7pm. Citizens will be able to get first dose, second dose, or booster shots of J&J (one shot dose), Pfizer and Moderna. For a smoother registration you can pre-fill the following paperwork in advance at https://www.enfield-ct.gov/1297/COVID-19-Clinic-Week-Forms
“These clinics are open to all ages 5 and up, and we strongly encourage parents to take advantage of it and also have their children vaccinated or boosted if they are eligible,” said Mayor Bob Cressotti. “Ensuring protection of our school age kids will assist in keeping the schools open and suppressing the community spread of what is becoming a very contagious strain of Covid.”
“Data is showing that even if you test positive, you’re far less likely to experience Covid symptoms — particularly those severe enough to hospitalize or kill you — if you’re boosted,” said Deputy Mayor Gina Cekala. “People who received their last dose of Pfizer or Moderna more than 6 months ago, or their dose of J&J 2 months ago, are eligible to be boosted.”
Omicron is about twice as contagious as delta, according to models and data from health agencies. “Those who are vaccinated and boosted are largely going to do OK, even if infected. Those who are vaccinated and not boosted probably will have it slightly worse. Providing this service to those who live and work here is a way for us to protect the most vulnerable populations as well as do our part as a community to prevent hospitalizations so that those with serious medical conditions can receive the care that they need,” said Cressotti.
The clinics are being provided by the Town of Enfield in conjunction with the State Dept. of Public Health. For more information, please call the Town Manager’s office at
