Town of Enfield Sponsors Drug Take Back Day, Saturday April 30th
(Enfield, CT)- The Enfield Police Department, along with the Town’s Drug-Free Community program, Enfield Together Coalition, will host a drug take back day on Saturday April 30, 2022, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the Enfield Town Hall.
Community members can come safely dispose of the following at the event: over-the-counter medications, prescription medications, medication samples, medications for household pets, medicated lotions, or ointments.
Items that are not accepted are: needles or other sharps, hazardous waste, thermometers, anything liquid, personal care products (shampoo, etc.)
“It is extremely important to get as many unused medications out of people’s houses as possible,” said Mayor Cressotti. “Without even realizing it, sometimes one can become a drug dealer for family members and others who have access to medications.”
The Enfield Police Department manages the proper disposal of all items collected. Police Chief Alaric Fox noted that “a medication take back box is available in the Enfield Police Department lobby for the community’s use on a 24/7 basis.”
