News Release for the Week of January 12, 2015
Two very exciting things have happened at the Enfield Senior Center in the past few weeks. First, Health New England has given the Senior Center $10,000 for outdoor fitness equipment. Pending the proper approvals, this will be installed in the spring along the walking trail. The equipment will have clear directions for performing six different exercises designed for older adult functional fitness. You will be hearing more about this soon but it is too exciting to wait!
The Senior Center has also been awarded $6,000 from Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving, Inc. for improvements to the Computer Learning Center to transform it into a hands-on Technology Center. We hope to have a variety of devices to experiment with and learn on. This grant would not have been possible without Joe Murtari’s advocacy and his son, Brian Murtari nominating us for the award.
The generosity of our community partners is overwhelming. These donations, along with your individual donations, enable us to innovate and stay a state-of-the-art senior center.
There are so many activities, services, trips, and events going on. On Tuesday, January 13 at 10 a.m. we will offer “Welcome to Enfield Senior Center” including a tour and the answers to all of your questions about the Senior Center. You do not have to register, just meet in the Senior Center Library.
