News Release for the Week of February 2, 2015

There are many services available at the Enfield Senior Center. Please take advantage of the wonderful professionals who volunteer their time to help with concerns you may have.
Patty O’Brian from the Alzheimer’s Association visits the Senior Center every month to talk, refer and counsel anyone with Alzheimer’s or a family member. We have lawyers, financial professionals and real estate professionals who will offer advice at no cost. If you have Medicare questions, a CHOICES counselor is available every Friday. Please schedule an appointment by calling the Senior Center office for anyone of these valuable and free services.

Did you know that the Senior Center lends medical equipment? You can pick up a walker, shower chair, bath transfer bench and many other donated pieces of equipment at no charge.

We have a wonderful Valentine’s Day celebration for you. Experience the elegance of The Great American Songbook Live on Friday, February 13 at 6 p.m. Classics like Unforgettable, Night and Day, and At Last are just a few of the legendary songs that will be performed. The $7 admission includes coffee and a special Valentine dessert.

Also, for Valentine’s Day, our friends at Caring Solutions will bring special gifts for everyone who attends the Community Café lunch as they have done in the past. Sign up for lunch by calling 860-763-7428.

We are offering a wonderful 2-day New York Adventure on June 9-10, 2015. Try your luck at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino, with 120,000 square feet of Las Vegas-style gaming. A 90-minute Erie Canal Lock Cruise will highlight the trip along with a visit to the Fly Creek Cider Mill & Orchard. Here, you’ll enjoy exploring a working water-powered cider mill, farm winery and mill store marketplace. A stop in Cooperstown, NY and a visit to the famous Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum will be included.
