News Release for the Week of February 23, 2015
The March edition of Front & Center is out. If you haven’t gotten it, please stop by the Senior Center to pick up your copy. You will find a list of all of the classes, upcoming trips and special events. We are now registering for the March and April session of classes.
The Enfield Senior Center is collecting pet food to deliver to Meals on Wheels clients who have pets but may not be able to get out to buy food for them. A collection box has been placed near the front office for your generous donations. We appreciate your support of this new project.
Local band Usual Suspects is back again! They will keep us rockin’ and rollin’ on the dance floor all evening on Friday, February 27 at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale for $7 per person. Come earlier for a slice of cheese pizza. Dessert, coffee and tea will be served at the break.
The Enfield Senior Center will host a free movie screening on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m. The movie, “The Age of Love” follows the humorous and poignant adventures of thirty seniors who sign up for a first-of-its-kind speed dating event exclusively for 70 to 90 year olds. After the movie, there will be a discussion led by AARP CT State Director Nora Duncan about the issues the movie addresses. Free tickets are available in the Senior Center office.
Movie and Chicken Quesadilla Night is on Thursday, February 26 featuring the movie, Elsa and Fred. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. and $5 tickets must be purchased in advance. The movie begins at 6 p.m. and the cost is $2 at the door.
Join us for a fun-filled trip to the Newport Playhouse on March 26, 2015. Enjoy the comedic show “When the Cat Gets Away. This play is about what happens when two wives go off on a trip to Paris, and then the "mice will play". Their philandering husbands agree to invite two charming little sex kittens over. Well, you already know what happens, don't you? The wives come home prematurely! Prior to the show, enjoy a buffet lunch then enter into their theatre to see the show, followed by a fun-filled Cabaret. Price: $106 per person. Secure your reservation soon; reservations are filling fast for this fun day.
